Keeping Invasive Species in Check

I was asked to create a logo for the Lake Tahoe Basin Weed Coordinating Group. The image had to satisfy the needs of the working group, which includes multiple agencies across two states and five counties.

Using steel blue for the lake and mountains, and dark brown for the invasive plant, I created a dynamic silhouette design.

Logos are powerful symbols. The plant piercing the sky symbolizes how ecosystems can be impacted by the introduction of invasive species. And the circle encompassing the plant symbolizes how we can contain the spread of them with early detection and rapid response.
